Several cars become stuck in flood waters in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police and Fire responded to several reports of people stuck in flood water.
Three cars were stuck on East 20th Street.
One family could be seen pushing their car out of the water after it broke down.
A block away from there, we saw a smaller car attempt to drive through the high water levels, but it appeared they feared it was too high, so they abided by the saying “Turn Around, Don’t Drown!”
On Cummings Highway, TDOT cameras captured two people being towed from flood waters.
Officials blocked off the area until the water receded.
TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN!! @wdefnews12 #StormTeam12 this car heeded that advice before it was too late. I had just driven through this same “body of water” and in my SUV it was a tough couple of seconds. pic.twitter.com/jZSmZo7m1a
