Sheriff asks help finding a Stevenson murder suspect

They are looking for 26 year old Jacob Tyler Thompson

STEVENSON, Alabama (WDEF) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office have identified a suspect in a deadly shooting in Stevenson, Alabama Monday evening.

It happened at a home on County Road 147 west of Stevenson around 6:30 PM.

Officers found the body of 54 year old Jack Edward Thompson lying on the front porch.

Investigators believe that his son, Jacob Tyler Thompson, had shot him and fled the scene.

They are asking for the public’s help to find Thompson.

They say he is 6’02” tall, approximately 140 lbs., with Brown hair and Hazel eyes.

They say Thompson was last seen wearing a camouflage shirt with a skull emblem.

The Sheriff says they consider Jacob Thompson armed and dangerous and in possession of a weapon, so please do not contact him.

They say he has connection in the Stevenson, Bridgeport and Jasper areas.
