Sheriff: Man who led police on 2 county chase has done it before

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – We’re learning more from the Bradley County Sheriff on the suspect who lead deputies on a chase through two counties on Tuesday.

The chase ended when the car crashed on I 75 in the Standifer Gap area.

But it began when a Bradley County deputy spotted the driver not wearing a seatbelt and running a stop sign.

When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the driver ran.

The chase ran through the city of Cleveland and onto I 75 heading south.

When the suspect got to the Bonny Oaks exit, Hamilton County deputies joined in.

Brackus FordThey took 22 year old Brackuss Ford from Cleveland into custody immediately after he crashed.

They report finding a .380 pistol in his pocket plus meth and more ammo in the car.

Bradley County deputies took Ford back to Cleveland, where he faces various drug and traffic charges.

Ford also has an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in a Bradley County Court.

Ford was also out on bond from a previous case of running from law enforcement.
