UPDATE: 1 dead after crash on Jones Gap Road Saturday

Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Sunday, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office released an update on Saturday’s crash on Jones Gap Road.

The Sheriff’s Office says that one person has died as a result of injuries from the crash.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Deborah Cox of Graysville was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.


Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — As of 7:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office says Jones Gap Road has reopened.

No other new information is available on the crash.


Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says part of Jones Gap Road is closed temporarily due to a multi-vehicle accident.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in the 13300 block of Jones Gap Road involving 2 vehicles.

Around 4:45 p.m., officials said north and southbound Jones Gap Road will be closed from the gas station at the corner of Jones Gap Road and Highway 111  to the Hamilton County/Sequatchie County Line for about 1 hour as the sheriff’s office investigates the crash.

Initial reports from the Sheriff’s Office say 3 people were involved in the crash with one patient in critical condition, one patient with minor injuries, and one patient reporting no injuries.
