UPDATE: Warrants obtained in shooting on Cummings Highway

Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in the Monday morning’s shooting on Cummings Highway as 28 year old Joshua Taylor Eaker.

The Sheriff’s Office says Eaker left the scene before deputies arrived.

The Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for attempted murder and domestic assault for Eaker.

Anyone with information on Eaker’s whereabouts are asked to call the Hamilton County Sheriff Office Fugitive on-call Detective at 423-209-7150 or 423-622-0022.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim was shot during an altercation between Eaker and a former girlfriend.

The victim, whose name is not being released, is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A prior mugshot was provided by the Sheriff’s Office.


Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting near the 2500 block of Cummings Highway.

According to the Sheriff’s Office the shooting occurred around 6:30am Monday morning.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says one victim has been transported to a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
