22-year-old charged in shooting death of Dmarcus Collins

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-  Chattanooga Police announced on Twitter that they charged 22-year-old Lamarcus Smith with Criminal Homicide for the July 30th shooting death of Dmarcus Collins.

Smith was arrested July 22nd false reports, evading arrest, and possession of controlled substance.






Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – In the early morning hours of Sunday, Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot in the 1600 block of South Kelly Street.

Upon arrival, officers located Dmarcus Collins, 24, with a gunshot wound.

Hamilton County Emergency Services transported Collins to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are following all actionable leads and ask anyone with further information to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more will be released when available.
