Signal Mountain Road Lane Closure
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn (WDEF) – Signal Mountain Road will be reduced down to one day starting Tuesday, May 11th from 9am to 2:00 p.m.
EPB will be replacing a transmission pole as part of our routine maintenance schedule. The work is expected to take about a week.
The lane closure will take place on Signal Mountain Road behind Signal Mountain Cement which is located at 1201 Suck Creek Road.
“This is just part of our routine maintenance that we have scheduled to make sure that all of our poles are in good shape. The road is going to be closed between 9 and 2 which we are hoping is a less busy time of day for folks going to work and school-things like that,” says Scottie Summerlin, Spokesperson for EPB.
This work is weather dependent. Should weather or unforeseen circumstances cause delays, it will be rescheduled for a later date.
There will be signage in the area alerting motorists of the lane closure and flaggers helping to direct traffic. Drivers can plan for a short delay or take an alternate route up and down the mountain on the W Road or Roberts Mill Road between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Please drive slowly through the area!
