Silverdale inmate severely beaten

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – An inmate has been severely beaten at the new Hamilton County jail facility at Silverdale.

It happened around 6PM Monday evening.

Sheriff’s officials say corrections officers responded to a disorder in the Alpha female unit.

They found one of the female inmates had been severely assaulted.

The inmate is currently in critical condition in a hospital ICU.
