Silverdale Jailer fired accused of having sex with an inmate
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff says he has fired a corrections officer accused of having sex with an inmate at Silverdale.
Samuel Horn was indicted for the incident that occurred in September.
The Sheriff says he was fired a month ago during a disciplinary hearing.
The firing followed an internal affairs investigation and “mandatory civil service required protocols” followed.
Sheriff Garrett says “The citizens of Hamilton County have placed a tremendous amount of trust in our people to protect them and those in our custody. This responsibility is not one to which our people or myself take lightly. I will not tolerate behavior like this.”
Horn faces a bond hearing on the indictment next month.
