Six Flags Over Georgia announces a Virtual Reality rollercoaster adventure

ATLANTA (WDEF) – Six Flags Over Georgia is re-purposing one of their popular rollercoasters into a new Virtual Reality ride.

The New Revolution Virtual Reality experience begins this month, but will only be available for a limited time.

They are putting you on the Dare Devil Dive and strapping a Samsung Gear VR headset.

So you’ll still experience a 95 foot drop hitting 55 miles an hour.

But instead of seeing the park below you, you’ll find yourself in the midst of an alien battle.

The headset turns you into a fighter jet co-pilot fighting off an alien invasion through a virtual city.

Park officials say that since the dips and drops are timed to the actual rollercoaster, it shouldn’t make you nauseous.

The new ride opens for Season Pass holders on March 12th and 13th.

Then it opens to everyone on the next weekend, March 19th.

They aren’t saying how long it will last, but probably not the entire summer.
