Snack Pack Ministry feeding children in Hamilton County

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The East Brainerd Church of Christ is preparing snack packs for children in Hamilton County.

Many students rely on school lunches as their only meal of the day, which is something they can’t get on the weekends.

But Snack Pack Ministry wants those kids to have meals every day.

Each month, East Brainerd Church of Christ prepares hundreds of meals for local schools.

Their goal is to feed every Hamilton County child facing food insecurity.

“It’s so important to me. I have a love for old folks, and I have a love for children. And it really touched my heart to think that right here in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that we had children that were hungry. And I decided I had to do something about it,” said founder of Snack Pack Ministry, Janice Robertson.

East Brainerd Church of Christ is also in need of volunteers to help serve.
