Soddy Daisy May Utilize an Air Raid With New Quarterback

Don’t be surprised if Soddy Daisy airs it out this fall with new quarterback Slater Hickman.
Said receiver Gavin Lane:”He has got a massive arm.”
And Hickman has that quarterback mentality.
Reporter:”Describe your style of play for me?”
Said Hickman:”Just sit back there and pick them apart. Get it in the open window. Get it to the guys and let them make the plays.”
Said head coach Justin Barnes:”Slater is more of a gunslinger. Isaac (Barnes) was a dual threat type of guy where Slater is more of a pocket passer with a bigger arm. We can probably stretch the field a little bit more. We do have a little more speed this year at receiver.”
Reporter:”How much is that going to make this offense fun to watch this year?”
Said Hickman:”Oh. It will be a show.”
If the offense can put on a show, then the Trojans should show off a better record.
Said Lane:”Coming back from a what 3-7 season wasn’t good. We’re ready. We’re ready to win again.”
Having 18 seniors certainly excites the Trojans as well as dropping down from Class 5A to 4A.
Said Barnes:”It’s still a tough region. Even though we played these teams, they weren’t in our region like East Ham and Red Bank. Those guys are very tough, so it’s still a tough region. The only thing I’ve said differently is now we’re in a region with people more like us in the numbers of the school.”
