CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF) – Sources close to the Hamilton County School District confirms to News 12 that Dr. Lee McDade, the Assistant Superintendent, and Kirk Kelly will be the acting Superintendent for the district until further notice.

The position became vacant on Monday when then-Superintendent Rick Smith “retired” in light of recent scandals plaguing the district.
