St. Chatty’s Day Parade

Chattanooga, TN (Shamrock Society)-

The Shamrock Society is now accepting sponsorship and parade entries for the 2nd Annual St. Chatty’s Day Parade. This exciting event will be held in Downtown Chattanooga and the North Shore community on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Celebrate the Irish Heritage and all things green by sponsoring the event or entering your parade float in honor of the historical St. Patrick’s Day! Sponsorship opportunities are $250-$2500 and parade fee is only $25 per entry.

The parade is a family friendly event that will bring the best out in our community. With the success of last year’s parade, the Shamrock Society decided to expand this year’s event into downtown Chattanooga. The parade will step off at noon with Grand Marshall Don Welch leading the parade onto Riverfront Parkway and continue across Market Street Bridge to North Chattanooga, continue on Frazier Avenue turning into Coolidge Park and ending at Renaissance Park.  Anyone that wishes to participate is asked to contact Kelly Lowry at 423-757-5259.

The Shamrock Society was formed in 2013 consisting of community and business leaders in the Chattanooga community. The Society wanted to host a family event, encourage community involvement, and give back to the community by donating proceeds from the parade to Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block (CKOB). CKOB is a non-profit educational puppetry troupe whose mission is using the power of puppetry to educate children on social concerns and differences, giving them the skills to stay safe and healthy.

“We are very excited about the success of the first “St. Chatty’s Day” Parade last year. The response from our community, parade participants, local businesses and community leaders was wonderful,” stated David Queen parade organizer and sponsor.

This is the second year for the St. Patrick’s Day parade to be held in Chattanooga and event organizers are hopeful that in years to come the parade will become as large as the infamous Savannah, Georgia celebration with large floats, big balloons, marching bands, and a town ready to celebrate the Irish holiday.

Proud sponsors include Queen Financial Services Corporation/QSB Events, Inc., 107.9 Nash ICON, Chattanooga Times Free Press, First Tennessee, Fairway Outdoors, Beast & Barrel, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chattanooga Coca- Cola Bottling Co., Technology projects, McHales, and Professional Sign Services.
