St. Louis Cardinals Take Sequatchie Co Native Dakota Hudson in MLB Draft

Sequatchie County native Dakota Hudson had to wait awhile Thursday night, but the Mississippi State pitcher finally got to hear his name called in the first round of the major league baseball draft.
The St. Louis Cardinals took Hudson with the 34th and final pick of the first round of the draft.
Hudson was one of the top pitchers in the SEC this year.
The junior right-hander has a 9-4 record with a 2.62 ERA.
He also struck out 109 batters in 106 innings of work.
Hudson and the Bulldogs are still playing in the NCAA tournament.
They host Arizona on Friday.
