St. Patrick’s Day at Thrive at Brow Wood
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. (WDEF) – Thrive at Brow Wood Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a lively Irish Dance Performance
Residents of Thrive at Brow Wood were treated to an energetic and heartwarming celebration in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, featuring a special performance by dancers from Southern Irish Dance.
With quick, rhythmic steps and captivating footwork, the dancers showcased the traditional art of Irish step dancing, filling the room with excitement and joy.
The event wasn’t just about entertainment—it was also about connection.
Throughout the performance, dancers engaged with residents, sharing stories about their craft and even teaching a few basic steps.
The audience was enthralled, clapping along to the beat and appreciating the effort that went into making the celebration special.
Jean Sneller, one of the attendees, expressed her excitement about the event.
“Well, it’s a lot of fun! They’ve put a lot of work into having this party today, and it’s going over really well.”
Josie Phillips, one of the Southern Irish Dancers, was thrilled to be part of the experience.
“I’m very happy to be able to dance for these people… Happy St. Patrick’s Day!”
During the performance, attendees also learned about the history of Irish step dancing.
A dancer explained that the tradition dates back centuries and has evolved over time into the vibrant art form it is today.
“You have so far seen ‘soft shoe’ dancing, which is light on the foot and performed in kid-skin leather shoes.
Next, you’ll see (and hear) our ‘hard shoes,’ which are rhythmic and have fiberglass tips,” the dancer elaborated.
As the celebration continued, the smiles and laughter in the room were a testament to the success of the event, making this St. Patrick’s Day one to remember at Thrive at Brow Wood.
