Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive returns to Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The National Association of Letter Carriers is once again partnering with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank for the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The nationwide effort began in 1993 and has since grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive.

Organizers say community members can help by donating non-perishable food items.

Donations can be dropped off at your nearest post office or left in a bag near your mailbox on May 9.

Jennifer Franklin, Director of Development, said community support is essential to helping feed local families.

“Anything we can do to get our community involved, that is how we feed our neighbors. We cannot do this alone. We serve 20 counties, and there is no way we can serve all of them without our neighbors, community partners, and community friends. They are imperative in helping us get food to those who need it,” Franklin said.

Letter carriers will collect donations from several Chattanooga area ZIP codes during the drive.

Participating ZIP codes include:

37401, 37402, 37403, 37404, 37405, 37406, 37407, 37408, 37409, 37410, 37411, 37412, 37414, 37415, 37416, 37419, 37421, 37422, and 37424.

Organizers say every donation, no matter the size, can make a difference for families facing food insecurity across the region.
