Stolen vehicle leads deputies on an early morning pursuit

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle early this morning.

At 4:20 a.m., July 24, HCSO received a tip about a Hyundai Elantra with significant rear-end damage fleeing an altercation at a Circle K gas station on Shallowford Road.

Deputies located the vehicle downtown on North Chamberlain Road.

When deputies moved in to stop the car, the vehicle fled, causing deputies to engage in a pursuit.

The driver of the vehicle failed to navigate around several curbs, doing great damage to the vehicles tires.

The car came to a stop near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Windtower Drive.

Four occupants exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Deputies acted quickly and were able to apprehend all four occupants.

It was determined the driver and three passengers were all juveniles.

One of the passengers was a female, age 15.  She was listed as a missing person from Chattanooga with active juvenile attachments.

The driver was a 16-year-old male, along with two other male passengers, ages 13 and 16.

A USB cord was found inside the vehicles ignition, being used to operate the switch.

Reports showed the car had been stolen two weeks earlier from an apartment complex in Chattanooga.
