Storms roll through Hamilton County

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Storms swept through the Tennessee Valley Wednesday evening and brought high winds, lighting, and torrential rainfall.

In East Ridge, a large tree branch toppled over on to Yale Street and took out a power line.

Residents recalled a quick windy downpour.

Authorities said no one was hurt.

The storm created not so great driving conditions.

While motorists endured rain on I-24, they also experienced some traffic heading east from a crash involving a jack-knifed tractor-trailer.

Crews worked to clear the scene.

Heavy rain also flooded roads

The weather also caused significant power outages in the Brainerd and Northgate areas.

Wednesday’s weather adds to the several days of storms we’ve seen on our area.

This is the sixth day in a row we’ve had storms.
