Strawberry Festival comes to Chattanooga Market
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn, (WDEF) – It’s prime time for strawberries at the Chattanooga Market. The Strawberry Festival at the market on Sunday, May 5 featured a wide variety of strawberry flavored items.
Watsonia Farms has attended the Strawberry Festival at the Chattanooga Market for over 12 years now, and they have noticed sales flourish at the Chattanooga Market.
“It’s a certified organic farm in Monetta, South Carolina we do a lot of markets around the Atlanta area, and we come up here cause such a busy market for us on Sunday and we have certified organic strawberries, peaches, blueberries blackberries. Also, zucchini, squash, and other types of vegetables,” says Head of the Watsonia Farms vendor, Jack Deise.
From starting in the back of a pickup truck, Deise has been a vital piece to the success Watsonia Farms as they travel all over the southeast to sell strawberries, peaches and much more.
“The Strawberry Festivals have been a great strawberry crop for all the farms in the southeast. Whatever day it is, customers really come out by the heck out of the produce. Whether it’s strawberry day or peach day, people show up and put-up big numbers,” said Deise.
