Student makes verbal threat at CSAS

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — One student made a threat to another at the Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences (CSAS) on Thursday.

The verbal threat referenced a weapon, according to Hamilton County Schools.

School administration and the school resource deputy immediately investigated the situation.

Investigators did not find any weapon. They determined there was no active threat to the school.

CSAS took disciplinary measures toward the student.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is starting a juvenile petition against the student for threat of mass violence against the school.
