Students can win their school some cash in Healthy Tennessee Challenge

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Tennessee High school students will be asked to design their own action plan for educating classmates about the dangers of opioid abuse.

And those who win The Healthy Tennessee Challenge get $2000.

Organizers say it’s important to get young people involved.

“I think we need our youth talking about the things that they faced and how they have overcome them. And furthermore how they would educate their friends, their classmates, about the dangers of these drugs. And how addictive they are.”

Healthy Tennessee has spent the past eight years working to make the Volunteer State a healthier place to live.
