Stuff The Bus Campaign
The United Way wrapped up the Stuff the Bus Campaign Monday.
Organizers collected more than $80,000 worth of school supplies, and it’s all for Hamilton County teachers and students.
United Way Vice President of Resource Development Mike Slocumb says, "The supplies all go to a central depot. Teachers can go pick them up for their students. A lot of these teachers wind up buying supplies out of their own pocket. So, this is a way to lighten the burden on them, and at the same time provide supplies to students that couldn’t otherwise afford them."
The United Way collects school supplies for the Stuff the Bus campaign all year long.
Officials just started a Stuff the Bus campaign in Walker County as well.
