Supermarket Guru Report for June 8th

Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Cheese Alternative Provolone Style is a HIT.
I grew up in the cheese business, so I’m tough on "cheese alternatives" but this one, imported from Greece, is really good. Same texture as provolone with a mild provolone flavor. One slice is 4 1/2 grams of fat, 180 mg of sodium with no protein or sugars. At first bite there is a very mild hint of the coconut oil but that dissipates quickly. If you are trying to avoid dairy this is a product you should try. Great for sprinkling on a salad. Retails for $4.99 for 7 oz. Total Score is 85.

Seven Sundays Muesli Blueberry Chia Buckwheat is a HIT.
Breakfast eaters check this out! Gluten-free. Honey, coconut, blueberries, apples, chia, pumpkin seeds, buckwheat flour. Delicious. I like my muesli cold but you can always serve it hot, and even use it to make pancakes! Recipe is right on the back. 7 grams of protein, 230 calories, 6 grams of fat and 9 grams of sugars. Only 10 mg of sodium and in a bowl of a half a cup you’ll get your day off to a great and delicious start. Retails for $4.99 for 12 oz. Total Score is 89.

Kerrygold Dubliner is a HIT.
What is it with these Irish dairy farmers? Their cheese is so good. No, great. Smooth, slightly sweet this cheese is similar to an aged cheddar – but so much better. I only tasted it by itself, but cooking with it would be spectacular. I could make the best mac n’ Dubliner ever! 1 ounce is 9 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein with 0 grams of sugars. Made with milk only from grass-fed cows on small family farms. Imported from Ireland. Retails for $5.99 for 7 oz. Total Score is 90.

Stonyfield Organic Oh My Yog! Gingered Pear is a HIT.
The recipes for yogurts are so much better. And this new product line from Stonyfield ups the game even more. Triple layers and real fruit make this one of the best yogurts on the market. The blend of cinnamon, sea salt, nutmeg and ginger are second to none. 190 calories, 5 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein and 28 grams of sugars. I wish there were less sugars and you really have to stir the three layers well in order to get the mix just right – but little price to pay for a very satisfying food. Also, peel back the label for real customers Oh My Yog! Facebook moments. Retails for $1.59 for 6 oz. Total Score is 95.

Tio Gazpacho Gazpacho Verde is my PICK OF THE WEEK.
This is seriously great. Smart idea. Great recipe. Delicious. Yes, it’s a chilled soup that is loaded with great ingredients. It is one of the only products this year with kale as an ingredient that I truly like. Cucumber, Tomato, Avocado, Green pepper, Kale, Spinach, Red Onion, Apple Cider Vinegar, Olive Oil, Jalapeño Pepper, Mint, Himalayan Pink Salt, Cumin, Black Pepper, Garlic. Refreshing. Nourishing. Convenient. Forget that latte in the afternoon. This is the pick me up your body wants. 100 calories in this bottle with 8 grams of fat, 2 grams of protein and just one gram of naturally occurring sugars. Well done! One of our highest rated products so far this year! Retails for $8.99 for 12 oz. Total Score is 96.
