Support Campaign for Chattanooga Police Officers

Chattanooga Police officers are out on call each day…responding to different incidents around the city.
Several groups have joined together to give back…and say thank for their hard work and dedication.

Mood Radio Southeast, Pierce Law Firm, and members from Harvest Bible Chapel are making sure Chattanooga Police officers have all that they need by holding a donation drive for the officers.

“We hear so often on the news about all of the things going on. They’ve got increased hours, increased stress, things are just more difficult now than probably ever, said Director of Worship Tim Aslinger.

Nick McElveen, a former police officer said he knows exactly some of the challenges the department faces.

“You don’t know what to expect on any call. It could be different. So you could be on a call for 5 minutes or 5 hours. These donated items are actually going to be really helpful because they may not be able to break away from a call. And be to grab some bottled water, to grab some Gatorade, or sunscreen….or to even grab a towel to wipe off with.”

Several people stopped by to show their support for some 400 officers.

“Just let the officers and their families know that they are loved that we care about them that we’re supporting them because of the increased gang violence i can understand how they may even think the community may not even be behind them or rallying behind them at all, but we just want them to know we are for them we are with them and that we appreciate them, said McElveen.
