Suspect in Chattanooga shooting crashes in East Ridge
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A man is behind bars charged with attempted murder in a Sunday morning on South Seminole Drive in Chattanooga.
East Ridge Police say that the suspect of that shooting crashed into a home on South Seminole Drive but in their jurisdiction.
Chattanooga Police say that at 10 am they responded to a local hospital where a man arrived suffering a single gunshot wound.
Police say the victim. 56-year-old Dale Edmonds, drove himself to the hospital. Police determined the shooting happened on S Seminole Dr.
The victim’s injuries are serious, but non-life-threatening at this time.
East Ridge Assistant Police Chief Stan Allen says that they believe the crash was caused by speed and wet roads.
Assistant Chief Allen says that they are letting Chattanooga’s investigation take precedence.

The suspect, 25-year-old Scott Benn, was transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he was charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Theft of Property.
