Suspect in viral Jasper arrest video files a lawsuit

JASPER, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Marion County man has filed a federal lawsuit over his arrest by Jasper Police last year.

Samuel Hryncewiz was a passenger in a car that was pulled over by police in September.

Officers ordered him out of the car, but he demanded to know what he had done wrong.

The lawsuit claims that the officers used pepper spray, a taser and punches to get him out.

Later, Jasper Police said the officers saw what they believed to be a gun in the back seat, which justified them ordering him out of the vehicle for their safety.

It turned out to be a b-b gun.

A video of the arrest surfaced on social media.

The lawsuit was filed against the two arresting officers and the city of Jasper, which trained them.
