Suspect takes plea deal in shooting of father and mother after drug deal

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Genesis Latroy Vaughn has taken a plea deal for a double shooting almost three years ago.
Investigators say it happened after a drug deal on Highway 153.
They say Vaughn got into one vehicle and chased the family he had just done a deal with.
He fired into their car, killing Stewart Luttrell and injuring his wife.
A two year old in the vehicle was not harmed.
Vaughn faced criminal homicide charges but accepted a plea of second degree murder.
The deal gives him 23 years in state prison.
