Take a look at the new port coming to landlocked Murray County

CHATSWORTH, Georgia (WDEF) – North Georgia business executives this morning toured the new Appalachian Regional Port site in Murray county.

The port will act as a transfer point between the port of Savannah on the coast and a CSX rail line.

It will be used to transport containers to and from overseas companies.

The goal is to take big trucks off the interstate as the port handles some 50,000 containers annually.
