How Do You Talk To Your Children About the Woodmore Bus Crash Tragedy?

Chattanooga (WDEF)  Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam will visit Woodmore Elementary this morning to meet with teachers and Principal Brenda Cothran.

But for many parents, the question still remains “how do you talk to your children about this horrific ordeal?” Many Woodmore students went to school Tuesday to meet with grief counselors. Demetrius Jenkins took his son to school hoping to find some help. “That’s been our challenge, we’ve been up all night, I just don’t know how to tell him.”

Doris Toney, a Mother of a Woodmore student, encountered the same issue. “I don’t know what to say to her. All I can do is hold her. Just tell your kids you love them, tell your family. Tomorrow is not promised.”

The organization First Things First posted a variety of resources online to help guide parents through this difficult conversation.
