Talkin’ Turkey In Bradley County

Officers Distribute To Needy

CHATTANOOGA, TN – (WDEF) – It was “Turkey Day” in Bradley County!  Specifically, at the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.  Not for eating, but for giving.

They gathered in the North Training Room at the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.  Along with some members of the Cleveland Police Department, they talked….turkey!!

And then they loaded up their vehicles, and split the scene.  Each with a load of turkeys.

The turkeys were on their way to needy families in Bradley County.  Not just the turkeys…..but all of the fixin’s that come with a Thanksgiving meal.  Stuffing, rolls, you get the picture.

The sheriff’s office worked alongside local businessman Lynn Jones, who supplied the turkeys!!

ALANA SHELL, PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER; “Right now, we’re just finishing up, distributing them to each car. And then they’ll take them to the families of their choice. Depending on where each family lives and how long it takes to get there….and I’m sure they’ll get there and mingle a little bit.”

The School Resource Officers in the Bradley County schools actually decided who would receive a Thanksgiving dinner.

And just in case you were wondering, these were NOT small turkeys. Most were between 35 and 40 pounds.

Enough to feed a good amount of hungry folks, come Thursday!
