Social media star “Tater” loses his battle with cancer
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – The little boy who won over the hearts of thousands on Social Media over his quest to meet movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lost his battle with cancer.
Gabriel “Tater” Singleton Saturday at the age of 7.
He was first diagnosed at the age of 3.
Dalton Funeral Home is handing the arrangements.
We first learned about Tater’s quest to meet the rock in April.
Gabriel “Tater” Singleton got to meet Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on the set of a movie he is working on.
Their meeting comes after Tater’s post wanting to meet “The Rock” went viral.
The actor posted the picture of the two meeting on Instagram.
Tater also challenged The Rock to an arm-wrestling contest, and Tater won.
This is what the actor posted with the picture: “I can throw grown men into next week, but for some strange mystical reason I keep getting beat by kids at arm wrestling.
Defeated by the powerful Tater in front of the whole crew.
My ego can’t take this.

Tater was a son, a brother and a Whitfield County deputy sheriff.
Most importantly, Tater was an inspiration to everyone who was lucky enough to know him…
And to others who never even got the chance to meet him.
