TDOT blasting on I 24 on Monteagle Mountain this week

MONTEAGLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – TDOT warns motorists that contractors are blasting along I 24 West going up Monteagle Mountain.

They are clearing potential rockslide slopes and stabilizing the banks (see video above of one blast from TDOT.)

They are doing it at a the site of a recent rockslide in Marion County.

The blasts will happen during the week between 9 AM and 3 PM.

TDOT will control traffic with rolling roadblocks before each blast.

But you could be sitting in traffic for up to 20 minutes if you get stopped by one.
