TDOT reports improving conditions after snowfall
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – As conditions developed, crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation moved into position and began monitoring travel routes across eastern Tennessee.
Officials say teams were deployed as early as midnight to track changing road conditions and respond where needed.
Although Hamilton County experienced only light snowfall, other parts of the region saw heavier impacts.
TDOT Communications Officer Rae Anne Bradley said crews quickly noticed improvement as precipitation slowed.
“Conditions are starting to improve as the snowfall has stopped in most areas, at least in the Tennessee Valley.”
Bradley explained that overnight monitoring helped crews stay ahead of potential hazards and respond efficiently as conditions shifted.
Transportation officials continue encouraging drivers to remain cautious, even as snowfall tapers off.
Crews say they will stay active across the region to ensure roadways remain safe as temperatures fluctuate and conditions continue to evolve.
