TDOT shows Monteagle Mountain rockslide progress from blasting

MONTEAGLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – TDOT is showing off the progress they have made on a slide zone going up Monteagle Mountain.

They have been blasting rocks along the bluff since a slide closed down a lane more than a week ago.

You can see that they are cutting back the overhanging rock along the highway.

But they still have a long way to go.

The blasting will continue throughout the week, meaning more traffic stops before they set off the charges.

The zone is on the west bound section of the interstate going up the mountain in Marion County.
