Winter road preps are already underway

CHATTANOOG (WDEF) – TDOT and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are spending Monday getting ready for Tuesday.

Both agencies are hard at working preparing for the possibility of winter weather.

Troopers are advising people who have abandoned vehicles on the sides of major road ways to move them today.

After midnight, all vehicles will be towed to clear the way before wintry weather hits.

TDOT trucks are already out on the roads, also.

They are pre-treating with brine important highways to keep ice and snow from piling up.

So expect to have to work around the trucks today.
