Parkridge teams up with hamilton county teachers

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – North Hamilton County Elementary School teachers are learning how to save lives at Parkridge Medical Center’s Diagnostic Center.

Today, dozens of teachers showed up for hands-on training to help them understand how to respond if an emergency situation ever happens in the classroom. Each were taught CPR and choking for adults, infants and children, and how to use an automated external defibrillator.

“There’s only so many paramedics out there, and they get there as fast as they can,” said North Hamilton kindergarten teacher, Elizabeth Vandergriff, “So if I can give a few breaths or a few compressions, to prolong their life until the training personnel, you know get there and do that. That’s huge.”

To sign your school up for the course, call the Parkridge Marketing Department at 423-493-6799.
