Teams Unite for Foster Care
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – In honor of Foster Care Awareness Month, Tennessee’s pro sports teams, including our very own Chattanooga FC, are joining forces in a new initiative aimed at uplifting children and families impacted by foster care.
It’s called “Every Team for Every Child, a statewide effort led by Every Child Tennessee and backed by major teams like the Titans, Grizzlies, and Predators.
The initiative will roll out during the 2025-2026 season with events in stadiums across Tennessee.
We spoke to Lance Villo, the Executive Director for the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, about what the teams are doing for this awareness month.
“Some will be doing activations for fans during, before, or after games, and then we may have teams that go beyond that and invite you during a game, invite them to go to the website, or to donate. It really is incredible to see how each team is really choosing their own path on how to support every team for every child.” – Lance Villo
The goal? To raise awareness, celebrate foster care heroes, and connect fans with ways to make a difference.
With more than 80,000 children in foster care in Tennessee, organizers say this unified push could help change the story one team at a time and one child at a time.
