TECH BYTE: Apple Announces New iPhones, Watches
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — If you’re looking to upgrade your iPhone, you’re in luck!
Apple just announced its latest batch of phones and watches.
A nice new perk of the iPhone 15 lineup is the cable you use to charge it.
Say goodbye to Apple’s traditional lightning connection, and hello to a USB-C charging cable that even works with non-Apple products.
Super convenient, right?
The iPhone 15 also has a Dynamic Island, which shows alerts and live activities.
Apple says it even has a new advanced camera system, with a 48 megapixel main camera, and fast auto focus.
“iPhone and iPhone 15 Plus are truly incredible with new capabilities that will make a real difference in our users’ lives,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO. “Their unique combination of powerful technology, ease of use, and thoughtful design make them indispensable.”
You can get the 6.1 inch model for about $800.
The 15 Plus, which is 6.7 inches, is about $900.
The phones come in several colors, including pink and green.
As for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, they’ll both have a new titanium design, an A17 Pro chip, and a customizable action button.
It’ll also have a more advanced 48 megapixel camera.
The expanded video features will include vlog encoding.
The 15 Pro will, of course, cost you more than the regular devices.
The Pro starts at about $1,000, and the larger Pro Max at about $1,200.
And then there’s the new Apple Watches.
Apple says its new Series 9 is environmentally friendly, and 100% carbon neutral. No more leather bands.
The tech company says this series has its most powerful chip in Apple Watch ever.
It has a brighter display, and you can use it without even touching the screen.
The aluminum version costs about $400, and stainless steel is about $700.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has the same chip as Series 9, and is considered a sports watch.
The arm bands are also carbon neutral.
The “Alpine Loop” band is meant for outdoor adventure, “Trail Loop” for all workouts, and the “Ocean Band” for water sports.
The Ultra 2 will cost about $800.
You can already order all of these products.
They’ll be available on September 22.
