Local doctor fined for charging TennCare for services not performed

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Tennessee Attorney General has struck a deal with a Chattanooga doctor over TennCare Fraud.

The state accused him of submitting claims to the state insurance program for services he did not render over a five year period.

He collected the funds.

Dr. Ricardo Causo will pay the state $125,897.65 as a penalty.

“TennCare funds are not unlimited,” said Herbert H. Slatery III. “And this office will continue to fight for money wasted on fraudulent claims- money that should be going to treat a vulnerable population.”
