Tennessee Aquarium IMAX Center Receives Million Dollar Facelift

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – The Tennessee Aquarium IMAX Center is getting an impressive million dollar facelift.

The gigantic screen will stay the same size.

However, there will be new speakers in the ceiling and a new laser operated system that will make the picture brighter and sharper.

The IMAX senior operator travelled to Canada for a month in order to learn how to make this transformation possible.

Corey Cobb, the IMAX Senior Operator, says, "The colors with laser are so much brighter than the lamps we used before, as well as the contrast ratios are incredible. The blacks are very, very black. The whites are very white."

Cobb hopes this popular attraction will open back up the first week in February with a showing of National Parks.
