Tennessee businesses prohibiting guns will be held liable for customers’ safety
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — A Tennessee law that went into effect July 1, 2016 deals specifically with businesses that prohibit firearms on the premises.
Under the law, these businesses will be responsible for the safety of customers with handgun carry permits while these customers are on the premise or going to and from where their gun is stored.
This responsibility covers instances of other customers’ behavior, trespassers, employees’ conduct, vicious or wild animals, and defensible man-made and natural hazards.
