More Tennessee DA’s file lawsuit against opiod producers & clinics
MANCHESTER, Tennessee (WDEF) – Fire more District Attorney Generals have filed lawsuits involving the opiod crisis in Tennessee.
They represent counties in the middle part of the state.
Their targets are both the companies that make the drugs and the owners of alleged “pill-mills” that distribute them in large numbers.
One of the doctors named in the suit is Dr. David Florence from Manchester.
He is accused of running one of those pill mills in Manchester.
Dr. Florence was named in a similar lawsuit two years ago.
He is a former physician for the Coffee County jail and was the subject of a pitch for a reality show about a “wacky” doctor called Doc Star.
This is the third wave of lawsuits targeting the opiod industry in Tennessee.
But so far, none of the District Attorneys in our area have joined.
