Tennessee House passes Gerald McCormick-sponsored voter registration legislation
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) – Tennessee House of Representatives approved House Bill 1742 Tuesday.
The bill was sponsored by House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick (R-Chattanooga).
McCormick describes it as a bi-partisan effort to expand voter registration accessibility in Tennessee by creating an online voter registry through the Secretary of State’s Division of Elections.
It already passed in the State Senate, so now House Bill 1742 awaits Governor Haslam’s signature.
McCormick lives in Chattanooga and represents House District 26, which encompasses part of Hamilton County
