Tennessee Republicans book Gov. Ron Desantis for annual Stateman’s Dinner
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – As the Republican Presidential field gets a lot bigger this week, Tennessee party members have landed one of the big names to speak to them this summer.
The Tennessee Republican Party has booked Florida Governor Ron Desantis as a keynote speaker for their annual Statesmen’s Dinner in July.
Last week, the field for the party’s nomination included Gov. Desantis, former President Donald Trump, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Senator Tim Scott.
But this week, we’re adding former President Mike Pence, former Gov. Chris Christie and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to the race.
The Tennessee Statesman’s Dinner recognizes the volunteers who have made the party ascendent in Tennessee.
The event will be held on July 15th at the Music City Center in Nashville.
In a letter to party members, Chairman Scott Golden says “The evening promises to be an excellent opportunity to hear directly from one of the presidential candidates before Tennessee’s 2024 Super Tuesday Presidential Primary. The TNGOP looks forward to hosting other presidential candidates and events as we move toward victory in 2024! ”
