Tennessee Voters Must Register Today for August Election

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF)- Today, July 5, is the last day that voters in Tennessee can register to be eligible for the upcoming August 4 elections. Voters must register by 11:59 PM in their time zone to be able to vote in that election.

Residents have a variety of methods they can use to submit their requests. The quickest way is to head to https://ovr.govote.tn.gov/ where any U.S. citizen with a driver’s license or photo ID issued in Tennessee can register to vote.

Paper applications can be printed from that same website and submitted to your county election commission office by the end of today. You can also mail in your application, just make sure that it is postmarked today, July 5. The address of your county election commission office can be found at https://tnsos.org/elections/election_commissions.php.

Early voting for the August 4 election begins Friday, July 15 and runs through Saturday, July 30. The deadline to request an absentee ballot through the mail is Thursday, July 28.
