Terrell Owens Discusses Hall of Fame Speech During Shopping Spree With Area Kids
Terrell Owens gives his Pro Football Hall of Fame speech Saturday at McKenzie Arena here in Chattanooga. The Mocs graduate took over 30 kids on a shopping spree Friday, where he discussed his snub of the Hall of Fame ceremony. T-O says there’s a flaw in the selection system, and when he goes in the Hall, he prefers to be around those in Chattanooga who made him a success. Said Owens:”It wasn’t about the Hall of Fame. I never played the sport to be in the Hall of Fame. Everything that I’ve accomplished was a lot of hard work. There’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. And when I feel like there are certain people put in position to not really adhere, honor, and respect what I’ve done for the game, then that’s an issue. I can’t be more grateful for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for affording me the opportunity to receive one of the greatest honors right here where it all began.”
Owens Hall of Fame speech is scheduled to start at 3:17pm Saturday at McKenzie Arena. The event is free to the public and doors to the arena will open at 1pm.
