Terrell Owens Inspires Students
HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – NFL Hall of Famer and former UTC Moc Terrell Owens spent the morning at Hixson Middle School, sharing stories from his time in Chattanooga and the NFL while encouraging students to believe in themselves and stay focused on their goals.
Owens spoke to a packed gym before taking questions from students during a brief Q&A session.
When asked about the most rewarding part of motivational speaking, Owens said it’s the chance to give back and honor the women who raised him.
He also reflected on how his years at UTC helped shape his mindset and confidence, saying the word “believe” still stands out as a core message he carries today.
Looking ahead to UTC’s Homecoming weekend, Owens emphasized the importance of community support and called on fans to fill Finley Stadium for Saturday’s game.
The visit was part of UTC’s Division of Access and Engagement efforts to connect students and the community through positive role models.
