The Chattanooga Rescue Mission Hosts Thanksgiving
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – As people gather today to celebrate the holiday, organizations across the county are doing their part to help those in need.
The Chattanooga Rescue Mission came together this afternoon to host a free Thanksgiving Banquet for those who may be going without one.
Individuals and families were able to come and be served a warm, home cooked meal and receive supplies if needed. Volunteers were invited to help out and were even offered a plate for themselves.
The Chattanooga Rescue Mission is a non-profit faith-based organization that strives to provide food, shelter, and clothing to those in need and “to bring hope to the homeless.”
Ninety-six percent of the organization’s funding comes from individuals within and around the community who believe in the work of the mission. An additional 4% comes from supporting churches and local businesses.
With all shelter guests being provided hot, balanced meals, showers, clean beds, and a safe shelter for the night, the Chattanooga Rescue Mission is always available to help those in need and is always seeking donations.
