The Discovery Museum has Playtime for Children with Sensory Sensitivity
In partnership with the Chattanooga Autism Center’s Out ‘N About program, Sensory Saturdays provide children with autism a low-sensory Museum experience that otherwise might not be possible during regular operational hours.
Held on the third Saturday of every month(with the exception of June, July, and August), the Museum will provide sensory-friendly accommodations for guests by opening one hour early at 9 am, closing the cafe, limiting overhead announcements and other sensory inputs. Families are welcome to stay as long as they like including after the Museum opens to the public at 10 am.
Admission for guests is $5 for ages 2 and up and free for Museum members. In an effort to provide a sensory-friendly environment, admission will be capped at 100 guests.
